High-Current Arc Ignition Test Machine

High-Current Arc Ignition Test Machine is used for evaluating Ignition Performance Level Category as per UL 746A. Any insulating material should resist electrical arcing when a high current tries to make path between a short distance that is only ‘connected’ by insulating surface. This is a requirement as per IEC 60947 – 1, BS EN 60950 – 1 and IEC 60335 – 2 – 40. Thus, it is a basic electrical safety requirement for all components such as cables, or for that matter any device employing an insulation such as polymers or polycarbonates.
